Obituary Maynard K. Hildebrandt, age 88, of New Ulm, died Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Grace Community Church in New Ulm, with Pastor Phil Schenck officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday at Grace Community Church. To leave an online condolence for his family or to sign the guest book, go to: www.mvfh.org Maynard is survived by his daughter, Melanie (Dan) Boddy of New Ulm; sons, Scott (Linda) of New Ulm, and Jeff (Kim) of Apple Valley; sisters, Marlene Kloeckl , Lolly (Bob) Bauer, and Darla (Larry) Abraham; brothers, Donald (Gerry), Roger, and Jerome (Eunice); six grandchildren, Jenny (Jon) Whitling, Crystal (Jeff Watson) Hildebrandt , Dan Hildebrandt, Heidi (Ben) Pfau, Meghan Gleisner, and Matthew Gleisner; six great-grandchildren and two more on the way; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlis; his parents; brothers, Charles and Arlen; nephew, Mark Hildebrandt; brother-in-law, Paul Kloeckl; sisters-in-law, Jeanie Hildebrandt and Lynda Hildebrandt; and special friend, Dorothy Roth. Maynard K Hildebrandt was born on July 7, 1934 on the family homestead south of Gaylord to Otto & Laura (Schmidt) Hildrebrandt. He was the second of nine children who grew up on the family farm. Maynard was united in marriage to Marlis Gloria Delger on September 17, 1954 at the United Church of Christ in Gaylord. In 1965 the couple moved to New Ulm where he was employed by Bob Dittrich Trucking. In 1968 Maynard began working for Schanus Plumbing & Heating and gained his journeyman plumber license that same year. He later worked for Eryich Plumbing & Heating which later became Klassen Plumbing & Heating, working there until his retirement. Maynard also owned his own business, Hildebrandt Upholstery for many years and had great enjoyment reupholstering furniture for much of the surrounding area. Following Marlis’ death in 1992 he pursued his hobbies of motorcycling, fishing, and golf. It was during that time Maynard met Dorothy Roth and they enjoyed several years of traveling to Texas, Arizona, and summers at the Cross Lake area.
