Maxine Berry Chandler of Fredericksburg, VA passed away at home on Saturday, September 4, 2022. She was born to the late Aubrey F. & Emma L. Thomas on October 24, 1934 in Purcellville, VA. Maxine retired from Gary Melchers (Belmont) after 30+ years on dedicated service. Maxine is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, William F. Chandler, Sr., son William “Bill” Chandler, Jr., son Ronnie (Dawn) Chandler, daughter Betty Atkins, and daughter Janet (RC) Scott. She also leaves to cherish her memory her brothers Shirley, Stanley, and Robert Thomas. She was preceded in death by her sisters Elizabeth Fling, Lucille Hallack, and brothers Richard, Fenton, James, Curtis, Cecil, Ray, Athey, and Davis Thomas. She will be missed by her grandchildren Jesse Rowley, Robert Atkins, Missy Atkins, Savannah Marsh, Tiffany Bartek, Danni, Dylan Chandler, and Ciera Chandler, as well as her great-grandchildren Elizabeth and Lilly Atkins, Daniel and Logan Wilson, Layla Coleman, Caly and Lucas Marsh, and Katelyn. A graveside service will be held at Laurel Hill Memorial Park on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 1:00 PM. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Mary Washington Hospice for their tender care of Mrs. Chandler.
