Mavis Gardner Edmonds March 7, 1936 – November 10, 2022 Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Mavis Edmonds Spartanburg, SC – – Mavis Gardner Edmonds, 86, formerly of 212 Boundary Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Peachtree Centre in Gaffney. Born in Grundy, Missouri, she was the widow of the late Joe W. Edmonds and daughter of the late Riley Gardner and Thelma Broyles Gardner. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. Surviving are three sons, Dane Valeka (Roxanne) of Gaffney, David Valeka (Lisa) and John Valeka, both of Spartanburg; two brothers, Glenn Gardner and Leslie Gardner (Betty), both of Midwest City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Vivian Ruhl of Yerington, NV and Faye Tew of Dothan, AL; six grandchildren, Debbie Green (Nathan), Wesley Valeka, Desiree Valeka Crocker (Ira), Erin Lambert, Justin Valeka and Anaka Valeka; numerous great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Valeka, a brother, Edward Gardner and two sisters, Thelma Ellis and Iona Tunnel. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 13, 2022 in Oakland Cemetery with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905. The family will be at their respective homes.
