Mathew A. Sabatino, 94, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022. He was the husband of the late Hilda L. (DiBiasio) Sabatino. He was born in Youngstown, OH, a son of the late Antonio F. and Rose (Felch) Sabatino. Mr. Sabatino was a toolmaker/plant manager for the Felch & Co. He also loved being a real estate agent for many years. He served his country in the US Navy as a Quartermaster during WWII. He had been a Greenville resident for over 60 years. Mr. Sabatino was the father of the late David Sabatino and was the brother of the late Barbara Barkhammer and Loretta Yohman. He was the brother-in-law of Eileen Wilburn and the late Pauline Forlingieri, the late Ernest DiBiasio, the late Anthony DiBiasio and the late Anita DiBiasio. Mr. Sabatino is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and great nephews. Mat was a kind and thoughtful person. He cared deeply for his family and friends and demonstrated that by his actions. He helped his neighbors and treated them like they were brothers and sisters. Many years ago when he lived on Randall Street, he would tutor children who needed help with their studies. Mat felt it was an honor to serve his country. He did that by joining the Navy at 17 years old. Mat will be missed tremendously by those who knew him for years and those who knew him for a short time. He left a positive impression on everyone he came in contact with. There will be a void in our hearts by your passing. You were loved by all who knew you. Visitation Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 10-11am with a Catholic Prayer Service at 11am in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Inurnment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
