Mary Sue Turner Guthrie, 86 of Elkmont, passed away on Wednesday, December 28th, 2022, at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mrs. Guthrie was born on November 2nd, 1936, in Limestone County, to James Arsey Turner and Ida Belle Furline Turner. Mrs. Guthrie is survived by her daughter LaDonna Moss (Joe) of Elkmont; son Benji Guthrie of Elkmont; grandchildren Billy “BJ” Moss, Austin Moss (Susan), Chelsey Moss, Heath Moss (Stacy), and Jody Moss (LeAnn); and great-grandson Hayden Moss. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband William Guthrie Jr.; children Pamela Guthrie and John Guthrie; brothers James Turner, Harry Turner, Guy Turner, Albert Turner, Lee Turner, Lewis Turner, and Robert Turner; sisters Nettie Turner Standford, Lura Turner, and Mildred Turner. Funeral services for Mrs. Guthrie will be Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Steve Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be Monday, January 2nd, from 5:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Limestone Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Guthrie was a faithful member of Elkmont Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading, and she most especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandson.
