Mary Lou Weber August 2, 1933 – October 4, 2022 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Mary Lou Weber, age 89, of Valley City, ND, died Tuesday, October 4th at SMP-St. Raphael in Valley City. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 10th at Epworth United Methodist Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the Church on Monday morning. Inurnment will be in the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery, near Mandan, ND. Mary Lou Vogel, the daughter of William and Ellen (Villebrun) Vogel, was born August 2, 1933 in Harvey, ND. Mary Lou grew up in Enderlin, ND and graduated from Enderlin High School in 1951. She soon met and married Ralph Markuson in Valley City. They were blessed with two sons Robbie and Randie. After Ralph’s death, Mary Lou married Rhiny Weber and enjoyed 39 years together in Valley City. Mary Lou worked at Land O Lakes, Mercy Hospital and the Barnes County Sheriff’s office. She also painted and did wallpapering around Valley City making things look “Just Right”. Mary Lou loved sports and NEVER missed a game that Rob or Rand were playing regardless of the location. Mary Lou and Rhiny were always up for a road trip. Mary Lou was the Past President of the DAV, VFW and the POW Auxiliaries and a member of the Am Vets and American Legion auxiliaries. She was also very active with the Eastern Star and Epworth United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. Mary Lou was named National Outstanding DAVA member in 1996, helping Veteran’s whenever she was able. Volunteering and giving back was something she instilled in her family. Mary Lou was overjoyed when her granddaughter Megan was named National Outstanding Jr DAVA member. Megan and Mary Lou had a very special bond, they were almost inseparable. Mary Lou had an amazing group of friends, no one was a stranger, just a friend she hadn’t met yet. Mary Lou enjoyed her coffee group (every morning at a local restaurant), bowling and BINGO. Mary Lou is survived by her son, Randie Markuson; her granddaughter, Megan Markuson; grandsons, Tom Pihl, Peter (Michelle) and Timothy (Katie) Weber, Peter (Thania) and Robert (Laura) Schneider; stepchildren, Jim (Linda) Weber and Jeanne Schneider; numerous great-grandchildren. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, her husband’s Ralph and Rhiny, two sons Robbie and Rickie and a stepdaughter Corrrinne Weber.
