Mary L. “Lou” Landers of Decatur, Texas, went to be with the lord on December 1, 2022, in Decatur. Graveside services will be held at 2:30pm, Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur, Texas. Lou was born October 11, 1928, in Burlington, Texas, to Joe and Ida (Meek) Olbrich. She was married to the love of her life, Byrl T. Landers, on July 12, 1947. They were married 50 years when he passed away in 1997. Lou had worked at the Lorch Company in Decatur as a seamstress, the Wise County Tax Office, and Nathan Bell Realtors of Paris, Texas, as its secretary/receptionist until her retirement in 1990. She was known as “Grandma” to all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. She was able to grow flowers from just a cutting and enjoyed gardening. She also enjoyed bingo, sewing, riding horses, joining her friends for a trip to Winstar, watching her children and grandchildren competing in sporting events as well as watching the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, and Dallas Stars. She was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur. She was also a member of the Survivors & Friends Relay for Life Team as well as a 39-year Breast Cancer Survivor. She loved being with her family and looking at pictures and videos of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lou is survived by her son, Les Landers and wife, Judy of Burnet; daughters Leda Read and husband, Rick of Paradise, Brenda Bridges and husband, Eric of Decatur; six grandchildren, including Mandy Read Pruett, Nathan Landers, Mary Morgan, Brian Read and wife, Alison, Erin LaFitte and husband, Derek, and Caitlyn Landers; twelve great-grandchildren, including Kayla Morgan Reimert and husband, Drew, Krysten Morgan, Genesis Landers, Abbie Pruett, Zoey Morgan, Mavis Read, Austin Pruett, Rowyn Morgan, Sadie Read, Dean LaFitte, Owen Read, and Donovan LaFitte; sister, Ruth Bigon of Temple; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
