Mary L. Walters Craig, 84, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis. Born on September 15, 1938, she was the daughter of Von and Mary (Eggers) Craig. Mary married Robert Baxter in 1962 and he preceded her in death on January 12, 1976. She then married Robert Walters in 1983 and he preceded her in death on February 12, 2002. Mary had worked at Sarkes-Tarzian and RCA in Bloomington and at Bussman Fuse in St. Louis, Missouri. She was of the Protestant (Pentecostal) faith. Surviving to cherish the memory of Mary is one daughter, Pamela (Paul) Brown of Bedford; five sons, Emmanuel (Phyllis) Barnes, and Paul Barnes, all of Bedford, Lloyd of St. Louis, Missouri, Robert Baxter of Austin, Texas and Larry Walters of Mitchell; grandchildren, Mary Lou Noel, Ashley Phylen, and April Harrison, all of Bedford, Clayton Barnes and Meagan Barnes, both of Bloomington, Kristian Pierce of Troy, Missouri, Robert Baxter of Austin, Texas, Kyla Baxter of Houston, Texas, and Ethan and Owen Walters, both of Mitchell; and one sister, Olive Key of Bedford. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; two sons, William Barnes and John Baxter (who passed on December 1, 2022); two daughters, Teresa Baxter and Mary Hoskins; two grandchildren, Craig Baxter and Jamie Baxter; four brothers, Herbert (Dempsey) Craig, Claude (Toad) Craig, Lloyd Lackey and Phillip Craig; and two sisters, Pauline Spinks and Irene Spangler. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 9, 2022, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford. Burial will follow at the Beech Grove Cemetery.
