She was born in Chicago, Il. and came to this area 65 years ago. Mary was busy raising her 8 children and working various jobs. She owned several restaurants including Yum Yum Shoppe in Bayshore Gardens, Yum Yum Station in east Manatee County, and Cortez Cafe in Cortez. After the restaurants, Mary enjoyed time as the owner and operator of Fantasy Travel, which allowed her to travel around the world. She was a member of Bradenton Christian Reformed Church. She is survived by her four sons, William of Cape Coral, Robert of Tampa, Tom of Bradenton, and James of Fort Lauderdale; and her four daughters, Karen, Mary Kay, and Janet of Bradenton, and Joyce of Millers Creek, NC; and three sisters, Hermina, Caroline, and Johanna of Bradenton. Mary had 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Visitation will be at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 26th Street Chapel, 5624 26th St. W. Bradenton, FL 34207 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, December 16, 2022 and the Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Bradenton Christian Reformed Church .In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Bradenton Christian Reformed Church’s music department.
