View Tribute Book Martha Ann Maxey Vaughn of Duncanville Texas, died peacefully at her home on December 13, 2022. She was 91. Martha is survived by her daughter, Paula Townsend of Duncanville, Texas: Son, David Vaughn and Sandy Dorough of Dallas, Texas. She proudly leaves three grandchildren, Jennifer Rupert and her husband, Joe; Justin Vaughn and his wife, Michelle, all of Flower Mound, Texas; Jonathan Townsend and his wife, Katheryn of Sundown, Texas. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, that called her “Nanny”, Amelia and Lilly Rupert; Brody and Kate Vaughn; Katelynn, Karmindy, Jaxon, and Kayleigh Townsend and many loved nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Lendon (L.B.) Vaughn and her oldest son, Jimmy Vaughn. Martha was born on January 9, 1931 in Falls County, Texas. She was a graduate of Chilton High School class of 1948. She met L.B. on a blind date while in high school. They married in Waco, Texas on September 18,1948. Jimmy was born in 1950. Soon after they moved to Dallas, where she was a stay-at-home mom. It was at this time, they joined Cedar Temple Baptist Church, now Ferndale Baptist. Martha became the mom of two more children, Paula and David. She had all three kids in church from Cradle Roll to High School. Martha, after 72 years, is still a member of Ferndale Baptist Church. Through the years, Martha touched the lives of so many kids teaching Sunday School and V.B.S. She loved to cook for her church family and the Maxey Reunions. Visitation with the family begins at 1:30 pm at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:30 pm at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas, TX.
