Mark Norman Eide of Gladstone Oregon passed quietly in his home on December 7th, 2022. Mark was born January 12, 1944 in Portland Or, the son of Marvin and Sophia Eide. Mark graduated from Benson Polytechnical High school in 1962 and proceeded in following in his father footsteps and enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. Mark served as a printer in the Air Force until 1968 when he returned home to Portland. Mark met the love of his life, Virginia Marie Owens, and they were married in 1972. Together they had two sons, Michael and Eric, and settled in Gladstone in 1978. Mark was a tireless volunteer in the community of Gladstone specifically coaching youth sports. Mark could always be counted on to be there for the soccer, basketball, and baseball seasons. Mark worked for Tri-Met for over 30 years and retired in 2002. Mark loved the game of golf and spent most of his time either playing, practicing, or talking about golf. Mark is survived by his sister Debbie Hjort, sons Michael and Eric, his daughters in law Kate and Brittany; his grandchildren Jordan, Martin, Jackson, and Peyton. Mark will be laid to rest with his late wife Virginia at Willamette National Cemetery.
