View Tribute Book Mark Gregory Sherman, 85, died peacefully in Morristown, NJ on Thursday, October 27, 2022. Mark was born in White Plains, NY on February 10, 1937 to Albert A. and Rosemary (Boehnlein) Sherman. He lived most of his life in Westfield & Scotch Plains, NJ. He graduated from Westfield High School in 1956 and served in the US Naval Reserve from 1954 to 1962. Mark was a car enthusiast & avid motorcyclist. In his youth he raced at Sebring, FL, Watkins Glen, NY and Laconia, NH. He was also a dedicated table tennis player & coach, and was a charter member of the New Jersey Table Tennis Club. Before his retirement from the Westfield Post Office several years ago, Mark worked first as a mail carrier and then as a window clerk. Mark was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Walter J. Sherman. He is survived by a brother, William T. Sherman of Asheville, NC and sisters, Anne V. Sherman (Albert A. Fox, Jr.) of Tampa, FL and Mary Rose Van Fleet (Charles A.) of Morristown, NJ along with several nieces & nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation in Mark’s name be made to a charity of your choice. A private burial service will be held by the family at a later date at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, NJ.
