View Tribute Book María Francisca Ventrudo, 79, a resident of Yonkers New York for over 50 years, died October 28th, 2022, at Vassar Brothers Hospital with her daughter Christine Turner and son-in-law, William Turner, at her bedside. Born March 31st, 1943, in Ribadeo, Galicia, Spain, and was the daughter of the late Angel and Amparo Garcia. María also lived in Havana, Cuba and attended school there. She later returned to Spain and moved to the United States on June 19, 1962. María had many talents, one of which was working in a group home in her early years with children from 6 – 18. She significantly loved that job. María was in the real estate business at Hayduk & Parkis for 11 years and went on to own her own business with her late husband Fred for 5 years called, Ventrudo Real Estate. After the real estate business María went into teaching Spanish. She worked at St. Gregory’s, Berlitz for 9 years, Holy Rosary School for 12 years (also teaching computer classes), and retired in 2013 from Resurrection School. María had many things she loved in her life but nothing more than her husband Fred. One of the many passions she shared with Fred was their time together in Aruba. She had other passions in her life like studying psychology, listening to music, reading self-help books, and taking long walks or car rides whenever she could. At the age of 77 she fought and won her battle with breast cancer. María was predeceased by her loving husband Frederick James Ventrudo, daughter Brigette Puma, and her 2 sisters María Pilar Coloma and María Magdalena Wrona. Survived by daughter Christine Turner, son in law William Turner; Stepsons Kevin Ventrudo, Daughter in law Nancy Ventrudo and John Ventrudo; grandchildren Scott Ventrudo, Ralph Puma, Lauren Ventrudo, Cassandra Sinnott, Jenna Puma, and Ryan Turner; her sisters María C. Jones-Mulligan and María A. O’Halloran; 4 Nieces and 7 Nephews. Calling Hours will be held from 3pm to 7pm Thursday November 3, 2022 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603.
