Maria Megdelena Thomas was born on July 22, 1949 in Castorville, Texas to Juan and Gumesinda (Fuentes) Garza. Maria passed from this life in the comfort of her home in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on November 29, 2022 at the age of 73. On August 5, 1972 Maria married the love of her life Robert V. Thomas in Atoka, Oklahoma and they were married until his passing in September of 1999. Maria attended high school at Medina Valley High School in Castorville, Texas where she graduated in 1967. She spent most of her childhood growing up with her many brothers and sisters in Castorville, Texas. After her childhood she became a homemaker and then a private caregiver for the elderly and even spent some time as a group home caregiver. Taking care of people was a big passion of hers and she enjoyed doing so. Maria loved visiting her friends at the Senior Citizens center, attending church, traveling, being with her large family, and being with her grandchildren. Maria loved her children and grandchildren very much, but most of all, Maria will be missed by so many. Maria is survived by her daughters; Vanessa Lee and Lou Anda Thomas, brother; Raymond Garza, and grandchildren; Roby Reid, Jackson Hayes, Colton Cantrell, Lincoln Albertson and Sophia Albertson. Maria is preceded in death by her husband; Robert Thomas, Parents; Juan and Gumesinda Garza, Brothers; Jimmy Garza, Johnny Garza, and Fred Garza, Sisters; Dora Ytuarte, Angie Garza, Olivia Yanez, Lupe Hernandez, Frances Rodriguez, and Celia Spear. There will be a Rosary for family and friends held at Wooster Funeral Home at 6:00 P.M. Friday, December 2, 2022 at Wooster Funeral Home in Paul Valley, Oklahoma and then there will be a service on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Catherines Catholic Church in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma with interment following immediately after at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Services will be under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
