December 4 1945 November 10 2022
Our beloved mother, grandmother, niece, cousin, and friend Margaret France Lemons Clairain, returned to her Heavenly Father on November 10, 2022 at the age of 76. Affectionately known as “Maggie,” she was born in Sennely, France on December 4, 1945 to Paule Leonard Lemons and John Lemons. She came to Louisiana at 3 months old, and has been a lifelong resident of Covington, La. She was an only child but grew up surrounded by many adored cousins. Margaret attended St. Peter’s Catholic School and graduated from St. Scholastica Academy. She was employed at Citizen’s Bank and then married her love Earl Clairain, Jr. Later, their family became complete with two daughters, Heather and Janine. She began her career at Cleco and later became the Manager. She made many close friendships with her colleagues that lasted the rest of her life. Margaret had many unique gifts. She will always be remembered for her kind heart and fun-loving spirit, but her generous and selfless personality is what we all loved the most. Among her many passions were gardening, cooking, and enjoying food and time with family, cousins, and friends. She was a devoted mother and wife, and thrived in her role as a grandmother to William and Jacques. She proudly doted over her grandsons and spoiled them every chance she got. She played an active part in their upbringing, including attending all of their special events and sports. She never missed a chance to cheer for her “boys” in any and all things they were interested in. Fiercely loyal and protective of all close to her heart, she displayed a strong sense of family. Some of her favorite things like French Bread, Brie cheese, and chocolate were connected to her French heritage and she adored them. To say that her family and friends will miss her is an understatement. There is so much more that could be said, but in the end, what she did was make our world brighter and happier. We love and miss you, Coco. You will forever be in our hearts. Margaret is survived by her daughters, Janine Clairain, Heather Cutrer (Carey) and her grandsons, William (Erin) and Jacques. “I have fought the good fight, and I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7 Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at E.
