Margaret Agnes Torrence, age 98, resident of St. Agnes Home, Kirkwood, Missouri and previous resident of Warson Woods, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2022. Margaret was born in Pine Lawn, Missouri on February 19, 1924 and was one of four children born to Marie (Erman) and Martin Reiners. She attended St. Paul Elementary School in Pine Lawn, Mo and Normandy High School. After her graduation in 1942, she worked at the St. Louis Ordnance Plant (ammunition plant) and rode one of the infamous “Cartridge Plant” bus routes to work during World War II. Margaret married Harold Bennett Torrence on June 7, 1947 and remained happily married for over 68 years until Harold’s death in 2015. Their marriage was blessed with six children: Susan (Ken) Bryant, Karen (Scott) Stinson, Nancy (Tony) Hollrah, Kathy (Joe) Strange, Michael (Stacy) Torrence, Kevin (Amanda) Torrence; 14 grandchildren: Kelley Nicholas, Amy Stevens, Brian Stinson, Mark Hollrah, Rebecca Young, Jeff Strange, Megan Bryant, Kate Butts, Kristen Strange, Kelly Angermeier, Ryan Torrence, Austin, Emma and Katlyn Torrence; and 15 great-grandchildren. Margaret was a longtime and faithful member of Ste. Genevieve du Bois Parish in Warson Woods, Missouri and moved to St. Agnes Home in 2016. At St. Agnes Home, Margaret was able to continue to attend Mass daily. She also enjoyed participating in most of the activities offered at St. Agnes; especially Bingo. Her strong and abiding faith in the Lord was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. We all will miss her. Services: Visitation and Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes Home, 10341 Manchester Road, Kirkwood, Missouri on December 2, 2022 Visitation will be in the Foyer of St. Agnes Home at 8:00 AM and Funeral Mass will be held in the St. Agnes Chapel at 9:00 AM.
