Luther E. “Bud” Moyer, Jr., 81, of Hatfield, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Grand View Hospital. He was a former resident of North Wales, PA for over 30 years. He and his wife, Bonnie (Gibson) Moyer, celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary on May 21 of this year. Born October 2, 1941, in Hatfield, PA, he was a son of the late Luther E. Moyer, Sr. and Dorothy (Bonekemper) Moyer. He was a 1959 graduate of North Penn High School. His first career was working for his father-in-law managing Turner Air Field, Inc. He later went to work for Braccalente Manufacturing, Inc. in shipping logistics, where he was employed right up until the time of his passing. Mr. Moyer was one of the founding members of North Penn Squires Football & Cheer where he served as president for a number of years. He was an avid hunter, bowler, golfer and cornhole player. He loved the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. Bud spent many years racing his micro-sprint cars and attending races. Most recently, he attended the Indy 500 with his son, Jeff. His favorite times were spent being with family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Pam Olewnik and her husband, Eddie, of Harleysville, PA, Jeff Moyer and his wife, Lorraine, of Limerick, PA, Donna Mower and her husband, Bill, of Hatfield, PA, and Scott Moyer and his wife, Michele, of Virginia Beach, VA; two stepsons, Darrin Posavec of Quakertown, PA, and Jamie Posavec and wife, Bernadette, of Zieglerville, PA; a brother, Larry Moyer of Cape May, NJ; and a sister, Ruth Ann Shearer and her husband, Marlin, of Elizabethtown, PA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Allison and Sarah Olewnik of Harleysville, PA, Jarod Moyer of Dewitt, MI, Josh Moyer of Limerick, PA, Randy Mower and his wife, Heather, of Hatfield, PA, Chris Mower and his wife, Lindsay, of Ithaca, NY, Jessica Mower and her wife, Rachele, of Schwenksville, PA, Becca Stanley and husband, Luke, of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jake Moyer and wife, Holly, of San Diego, CA; two step grandchildren, Tyler Posavec of Lansdale, PA, and Brynn Posavec of Chalfont, PA; and eight great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Carlene Moyer. Family will receive friends from 10-11:15 am on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike at Cedars Road, Skippack, PA. The public memorial service will then begin at 11:30 am at the funeral home.
