Obituary Lucille F. Kehr, age 88, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on October 24, 2022. Lucille was born in Emsworth, PA, on July 20, 1934, the daughter of Margaret Ruth (Kuipers) and Albert Breitenbach. She graduated from Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She worked at several Pittsburgh hospitals before relocating to Delaware and retired from St. Francis Hospital after 37 years as a Pediatric Nurse. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Charles J. Kehr, Jr. Lucille was one of 9 children, preceded in death by her siblings Albert Breitenbach, Eileen Ackerman, Kathleen (Boots) Herbst, Elizabeth Kastory, Honora Sefick, Marianne Monteverde, and Ruth Costello. She is survived by her brother William Breitenbach. Lucille is survived by her children Luanne Kruluts (Matt) of Pittsburgh, PA, Mary Kennard (Steve) of Elkton, MD, Eileen Kehr of Wilmington, DE, Beth Lightbody (Bryan) of Newark DE, and Joseph Kehr of Newark, DE. Lucille was Grandma to Melissa Ofsa, Matthew Kruluts, Nathan Kruluts, Rachel DeMaio, Lauren Mirzakhalili, and Emily Kennard. She was Great Grandma to Karma, Finn, Maia, and Ashlyn as well as Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Lucille was a long standing member of St. John the Beloved Church. She was also a devoted and strong advocate for her disabled son. In her spare time, Lucy enjoyed reading, sewing, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, baking and hosting family gatherings. She was well known for her legendary Christmas cookie trays. The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the compassionate care provided by her current and past doctors, notably Dr. Nealanjon Das, Dr. Thomas Neef, and Dr. Bruce C. Turner. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, October 31, 2022 from 10-11AM at St. John the Beloved Parish, 907 Milltown Rd., Wilmington, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE.
