View Tribute Book On November 14, 2022, Loutrell Higgins Harris, loving wife, mother, and Nana was welcomed into the arms of her Savior surrounded by her loving family in Covington, Virginia at 71. Loutrell was born on August 27, 1951 in Baxley, Ga. She attended Appling County Public Schools and earned a bachelor’s degree in math from Georgia Southern University and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Valdosta State University. Loutrell taught at Waycross High School, Ware County High School, and Okefenokee Technical College. She was married to her husband, Jimmy Harris, for more than 40 years. Loutrell was actively involved with her church, loved watching a good college football game, and lived for spending time with her grandchildren: David, James, and Anna. She was preceded in death by her parents Dorsey and Masie Higgins of Baxley, Ga, and her brothers, Sherod Higgins, Robert Higgins, and Dewayne Higgins. Loutrell is survived by her husband, Jimmy Harris, of Waycross, Ga, one daughter Amy Conner (Lucas) of Covington, Va, three wonderful grandchildren David, James, and Anna, and many special nieces, nephews, and in-laws. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday (November 19, 2022) at Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery in Appling County. The family will receive friends 4 until 6 p.m. Friday at Music Funeral Home.
