Obituary Loretha Marie Brown Walker spread her wings to meet with the Lord on Friday, February 25th, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Loretha was born September 18, 1946, sixth child of the late Willie and Rena Pope Brown of Williamsburg, Virginia. At an early age, she professed Jesus Christ as her Lord & Savior at Mt. Hope Apostolic Faith Church of God, Williamsburg. She loved the Lord and anyone that came in her presence knew it! She was educated in the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools and spent most of her time loving on her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Loretha was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Rena Pope Brown; siblings, Shirley Brown-Jimmerson, Jenny Brown-Wallace, Beatrice Gray, James Brown, Daniel Brown, and Cecil Brown; daughter, Valerie Walker Canaday; and granddaughter, Ken’Desha Canaday. Loretha Brown Walker leaves precious memories with her loving husband of fifty-seven year, James Henry Walker Sr.; children, James Walker Jr., Eulonda Walker , Sarah Walker-Jones, and Cassandra Walker; grandchildren, Sa’Quoara Canady, Janiqua Randall, Kevin Canaday Jr., La’Shara Walker-Dunn, Marquez Walker, Alessandra Walker, Kayla Walker, Kelsey Jones, Cornelius Carey Jr., Val-Desha Carey, and Kamari Allen; twenty-four great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Brown Brooks; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law, Lancanis Gray-Johnson, and a host of nieces, nephews, loving cousins, and friends. Forever missed, but never forgotten! A service to celebrate Loretha’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at Bethel Restoration Center. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service. Interment to follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Mrs. Walker may be viewed from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
