Obituary Lois Iona Boicourt, 88, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the home of her nephew. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Arnold Funeral Home. Rev. Zane Whorton will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in Benton City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at the funeral home. Iona was born on May 30, 1934 in Burdett, Arkansas, the daughter of Owen and Sarah (Kelley) Jeffery. On December 21, 1951, she married Wayne H. Boicourt, who preceded her in death, in Cairo, Missouri. Iona and Wayne lived in Mexico for many years at the beginning of their marriage. Iona enjoyed art, music and spending time gardening. She also loved animals, especially her dog “Killer”. Iona was a member of P.E.O. – Beta Sigma Sorority. She spent her working life as a dental assistant and later as a cost accountant with Consolidated Electric in Mexico. Iona was beloved by her family. Survivors include a multitude of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Boicourt was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne H. Boicourt; her parents, Owen and Sarah Jeffery and three brothers, Robert Gerald Jeffery, Owen Edward Jeffery and Melvin Leon Jeffery. The family requests memorial donations be made to Benton City Cemetery Association. Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
