BREWER – Linda V. Newton, 71, left us too soon on January 19, 2022, at a hospital in Bangor. She was born July 2, 1950 in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of Bernard P. Lopez and Rachel Cisneros. Linda was a single mother of 4 until she met and married the love of her life, Charles (Dennis) Newton in 1987. In 2002 they moved to Maine where they settled in Brewer. Linda’s love of cooking would open up the doors for her catering business, Las Dos Hermanas. She enjoyed cooking traditional Hispanic dishes as well as trying out new ones. Family and friends would gather together to lend a hand in making tamales. They would share in the labor, laughter and memories of such wonderful times. Linda also enjoyed gardening, puzzles, fellowshipping with family and friends as well as watching movies with Dennis. Surviving children are Glen Hudgens and his wife, Renee, of Bangor, ME, Alex Hudgens and his wife, Denise, of Anaheim, CA, Joginna (Hudgens) Alfaro and her husband, Jose, of Tijuana, MX, Linda Hudgens and her partner Lonnie Owens, of Frazier Park, CA; stepson, Todd Newton and his wife, Daisy, of Brea, CA; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters; 2 brothers, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her husband Charles (Dennis) Newton. A memorial service will be held at Brookings-Smith, Bangor at a date and time to be determined.
