View Tribute Book LeRoy Victor Dahl, 81, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at the Littlefork Care Center. LeRoy was born on February 3, 1941, on the Dahl homestead in Mizpah, MN to Martin and Florence Dahl. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Mizpah. He attended grade school in Mizpah and high school in Northome where he graduated in 1959. LeRoy worked in the oil fields in Montana after graduation. Upon his return to Minnesota, he worked in the woods with Ed Schroeder and later Dick Rasmussen. LeRoy drove logging truck for Don and Shirley Kleppe and for Neil DeLack which he retired from in 2003. LeRoy also worked in the Boise Insulite Mill until they shut down. He enjoyed farming and purchased Lee and Sarah Smith’s farm in 1972. LeRoy married Linda Diane Kjemperud on July 30, 1960, at Littlefork Lutheran Church. They had three daughters; Laura in 1961, Leasa in 1963 and LuAnn in 1968. He was a lifelong member of Littlefork Lutheran Church and the Cross River Community Club. LeRoy enjoyed many trapping adventures with his trapping partner, John Rasmussen. LeRoy is survived by Linda his wife of 62 years, three daughters and their families: Daughter Laura Cheney (Rusty) of Homer, AK; grandchildren Riley Merritt, Kristin (Tom) Shover, Jenny (Jed) Smith, Russ (Aurora) Merritt, and John (Melissa) Sheldon. Kristin and Tom’s children: Grace, Lucy and Donny. Jenny and Jed’s children: Aubrey, Weston and Josiah. Russ and Aurora’s children: Micheal and Beau. John and Melissa’s children: Kevin, Kenyon and Kimber. Daughter Leasa White (Jeff) of Northome; grandchildren Jonathan (Anna) Blake and Alayna (Jesse) Grotberg. Jonathan and Anna’s children: Keaton and Shayla. Alayna and Jesse’s daughter: Lydia. Daughter LuAnn Henrickson (Doug) of Littlefork; grandchildren Jessica Lucca (Jared Karsnia), Rylan (Breann) Henrickson, Liana (Zach) Morin and Kallie Henrickson. Jessica’s children: Jake, Hadley and Rylee. LeRoy is also survived by his sisters Bernadine Reierson, Marla Theisen (Bill Anderson), Marian (Brad) Swang and sister-in-law Caroline Burley along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. LeRoy was preceded in death by his sister Marlene Dahl; brothers-in-law Jim Reierson, Richard Theisen, and Clarke Burley; son-in laws Micheal Merritt and Kevin Sheldon; granddaughter Rina Merritt; and nephew Shane Swang. Services will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 2 pm at the Littlefork Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Andy Berry will preside.
