Mary LaVern Terry of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Lloyd and Geneva (Woolsey) Nelson on December 9, 1938, in Maysville, Oklahoma and passed from this life on December 26, 2022 in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years. LaVern grew up and attended school in Maysville and Elmore City. On September 20, 1956, LaVern married Thell Terry in Elmore City. She worked for SORC for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed crochet, sewing, being outdoors, and cleaning. LaVern had a superior work ethic and liked to put in a long, rewarding day of work. She was a member of the Pernell Round Up Club and one of the founding members of the Elmore City Round Up Club. LaVern attended the Missionary Baptist Church and the Elmore City First Baptist Church. Mrs. Terry is survived by: Daughter: Nesha Wright and Ricky of Elmore City, Oklahoma Granddaughters: Kyla Wright of Norman, Oklahoma Shaylin Gonzalez and Edgar of Elmore City, Oklahoma Grandson: Dustin Terry and Kristie of Elmore City, Oklahoma Great-grandchildren: Justin and Jaylee Terry Brother: Charles Nelson and Cariol of Elmore City, Oklahoma Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by: Her husband: Thell Terry Son: Steve Terry Parents: Lloyd and Geneva Nelson Grandson: Cody Wright Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022, at the Elmore City Cemetery.
