Obituary LaQuita Jones Brickell, 76, of Cabot was welcomed into her Heavenly home on Friday, October 14, 2022. She passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. LaQuita was born in Indio, California on August 31, 1946 to parents Jean and Kenneth Jones. She was a 1963 graduate of Coachella High School. Shortly after graduating, she moved to Arkansas, and it became her home state where she raised her three daughters and made lifelong friendships. LaQuita dedicated her professional life to public service. She worked for the City of Cabot, serving under four city mayors’ administrations during her career. “Miss Quita”, as so many affectionately called her, will always be remembered for the warmth and kindness she extended to everyone. LaQuita cherished her family and loved nothing more than spending time with them. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Ed Brickell; and her daughters, Melissa (Chris) Masingill, DeAnna (Bob) Collet, and Lisa (Jeff) Hardage. LaQuita’s grandchildren, Hannah Montgomery, Mia Waymack, Canon Collet and Ava Masingill were her purest joy, as was her precious miniature yorkie, Layla. Her family treasures her memory and will continue to honor her legacy of compassion and kindness through their Christian faith and service to others. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 18 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of LaQuita Jones Brickell August 31 1946 October 14 2022.
