Kernisha Jenay Hughes McClinon July 11, 1992 – October 29, 2022 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Kernisha, known by those who loved her as “Nee-Nee”. She was the youngest gift to her parents, Kewanda Hughes and Costillo Johnson and to her two older sisters, Krystal Hughes and Jammie Hughes-Davis. They knew her as loving, kind, a dancer, goofy, spoiled and special to them. Upon her untimely departure she leaves behind two kids, Ke’Wuan McClinon, 12, and Miss Stacy Hughes, 1, whom she adored and devoted her life to. These were her babies, her strength and the two things she loved and lived for. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces, Ja’Niya Brown and Blessynn Hughes. In addition, she has a surviving grandmother, Freada Hughes and a host of other cousins, aunts, uncles, relatives of the Hughes, Howard, Powell, Johnson and Daniel families. She was a high school graduate, then she went ahead and gained her Phlebotomist License, but ended her career at Avis Rental Center at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport. She meditated over the bible a lot and the last scripture she wrote out was Psalm 13. She was a light to many of her family, friends and people of brief encounters. We will now go forth and continue to honor her name and legacy. Viewing will be on Tuesday 1-6pm at Roberts Chapel. Funeral Service on Wednesday 12 noon at The Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church (2409 40th Avenue North 35207, burial in Oakland Cemetery. Face Protection and Social Distancing Required.
