Obituary Kenneth “Ken” Gerald Whitted, 82, of Seymour, TN, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022. Ken was of the Baptist faith. He loved spending time with his family and his family loved spending time with him. He enjoyed racing with his family on local dirt tracks for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Lou (Shultz) Whitted; parents, McKinley and Wilma Whitted; grandparents, Bernard and Nora Valentine, and Thomas and Viola Whitted; brothers, Jimmy Whitted, Buford Whitted, and Stanley Whitted; brothers-in-law, Wayne Shultz, Charles Shultz, Ennis Shultz, Jack Gilmore, John Wilson, and Lennie McCarter; sister-is-law, Imogene Shultz, Christine Shultz, Georgia Myers, and Veryl McCarter. Ken is survived by his son, Steven Whitted and wife, Patricia; daughter, Selina Ogle and husband, Randy; grandchildren, Nicole (Nathan) Dearfield, Whitney Townsend, and Christen (Jacob) Bagwell; great-granddaughters, Zoey Townsend, Evelyn “Evie” Webb, Eleanor “Elli” Dearfield, and Oaklyn Ingersoll; brother, Jack (Diane) Whitted; sister, Charlene (Joe) Rutherford; sisters-in-law, Sherry Whitted, Shirley Witted, Bea Whitted, Glenda Wilson, and Ida Gilmore; many nieces and nephews. He was blessed to be loved by a large family and all who knew him. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Brookdale Browns Creek Assisted Living and its residents. He has lived there most of the last six months and you all have taken him in as part of your family. Thank you to all the nurses and caregivers for loving on him just as your own. And an extra special thank you to Misti Russell, Mandy Houser, and his angel, Christi Drye in his final hours. We couldn’t have done it without you all. The family will receive friends from 5-7PM Monday at Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour with service to follow at 7PM. Rev. Don Wilson will be officiating. Interment will be 11AM Tuesday at Highland South Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post #104. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour.
