View Tribute Book Katie Lenae Snellings was born in Elberton, Georgia on July 28, 1988, the oldest of two children of Duane Snellings and Lori Byrd Rose. She entered into rest in Elberton, Georgia on August 12, 2022. Katie was a 2006 graduate of Elbert County Comprehensive High School. She loved her family dearly and her children, VanJagger and Molleigh Kye, were apples of her eyes. Katie was the most genuine person you could ever meet, and had a heart of gold. She spent her life encouraging others and taking every opportunity possible to lift others up. Katie enjoyed spending time at the park and the lake, listening to music, and devoting her life to caring for her children. Survivors include her children, VanJagger Hickman and Molleigh Kye Hickman, both of Elberton; parents: Duane and Jane Snellings of Elberton and Lori and Wesley Rose of Greenville, SC; brother, Byron and Kayla Snellings of Elberton; grandmothers: Carolyn Carithers Snellings and Ralene Allred Byrd, both of Elberton; and a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandfathers: Wayne Snellings and Don Byrd; and uncle, Chris Snellings. Memorial services celebrating Katie’s life will be held on Saturday, August 20, at 12noon at River of Life Church in Hartwell with the Revs. Byron Snellings and Ken Buffington officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00-11:45a.m. prior to the service at the church. Flowers are accepted and should be delivered to the church on Saturday.
