Obituary Kathleen McGowan passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at the age of 78. She was born in New Orleans on December 7, 1943, to the late Rita Bartholomew Martin Blunt and David Martin Sr. She is survived by her husband of 30 years. David McGowan. Sons Anthony Dapremont, and James DeBose. Daughter Mary Debose, 2 stepdaughters Dana McGowan Davis (Douglas) and Raquel McGowan. Siblings, Rita Martin James, Betty Martin Brown (Mark) and David Martin, Jr, stepbrothers, Aaron, Lloyd, and Floyd Martin, and 13 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. Two very special sister friends. Carol Johnson, and Lillian Dapremont. Godchild, Terri Bartholomew Dummars and her puppy Teddy. She also leaves behind a long list of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all of whom she considered family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rita Martin Blunt and David Martin Sr, Stepfather, Edward Peter Blunt, step Grandson Donte’ Hall. Kathleen retired from Wemco Tie Company after 30 years. Kathleen loved reading her romance novels. She was best known for her macaroni salad. Family, friends, Gretna Police Department, Convention Center Centerplate, Country Day School, OTB (Greta) Harvey, Post Office, U.S. Arm Forces S&P, Evening Star Baptist Church, and Hospice Specialist of Louisiana Staff are invited to attend A Celebration of Her Life Service Friday, September 16, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Transfiguration of The Lord Catholic Church, 5621 Elysian Fields Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Mass begins at 10:00 a.m. Father Paul H. Desrosiers, Officiant. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Ave, New Orleans, LA.
