She was born July 5, 1930 in Saranac, Michigan the daughter of Glenn and Frances Young. Kathleen married Robert L. Royal in 1975. He preceded her in death January 10, 2006. She was a Life member of the Sheridan VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Member of Shiloh Community Church and past attendee of the Galilee Baptist Church in Saranac when Pastor James Frank was Pastor. Kathleen loved to ride Snowmobiles, Motorcycles, Cook and go to Yard Sales and Garage Sales. She is Survived by her children Leonard (Carolyn) Guernsey of Ionia, Stephanie Jennings of Big Lake, Alaska, Glen (Pam) Guernsey of Hastings and Sondra Graham of Anchorage, Alaska. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and great great great grandchildren. Half brothers Ed (Hart) Johnson and Dave (Irene) Johnson both of Canada. Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, husband Robert, daughter Debbie Waters, sons Ricky, Steve and Randy Guernsey and sister Darlene DeYoung. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Pastor James Floyd officiating. Interment to follow at Saranac Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Spectrum Health Hospice.
