Julie Hurlburt April 24, 1954 – September 25, 2022 Share this obituary View/Sign Guestbook Julie Hurlburt, 68, of Middletown, wife of the late Charles Hurlburt, died Sunday September 25, 2022 at Middle Hospital. She was born in Meriden, and is the daughter of the late George Zimmermann, Jr. and Catherine (Turi) Zimmermann. Prior to her retirement, Julie was a teacher at the YMCA pre-school in Middletown. Julie truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, she was a walker, sometimes out of necessity and sometimes just because. There are many people who saw her around town on her walks! Julie loved a good cup of tea and a nice piece of dark chocolate. Spending time with her nieces and nephews gave her great pleasure. Being proud of her families accomplishments also brought her much joy. She loved sitting on her porch, being surrounded by her plants as it gave her a true sense of peace and relaxation. She loved meditating and reading her spiritual books. She started working on the Community Christmas dinner with her late husband, Chuck. As the director of the dinner for many years she was passionate about helping anyone who was alone on Christmas Day feel included and loved. Every year the Community Christmas Dinner serves 400 or more meals. She helped with many aspects of life at the First Church of Christ, as giving back to her community was so important to her. All of this is proof she didn’t owe this earth one more day, we know she was very proud to have made her mark on this thing we call life. Julie is survived by her sisters, Ellie Gagnon and Victoria Boudreau, brother, Randy Zimmermann, Her nieces and nephews Kristina Haban, Jennifer Wade, George Zimmermann, Silas Zimmermann, Vanessa Ambrose, Jason Young, Samantha Gagnon, her great nieces and nephews Katie Jo Haban, Josh Wade, June Wade, and Teigen Zimmermann. Her brother in laws Doug Gagnon Jr., and Leonce Boudreau, her nephew in laws Joey Haban, Josh Wade, her niece in laws Alexa Ambrose, and Nicole Zimmermann, her sister in law Debbie (Hurlburt) Gibson. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles and brother, George.
