Judy Lieber of Bloomington, MN, age 87 and a day, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2022. Judy was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and gifted artist. She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Lauren) and Josh (Danielle); and her loving niece and caretaker, Nora Leven (David Tillman); grandchildren, Michael, Camille and Remi; great-nephew and nieces, Joey (Jenna) and Leah; as well as many devoted nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Susie and Sam Ellman; sisters, Gloria, Lila, and Caryl; granddaughters, Rachel and Taylor; and loving and supportive partner David Primrose, with whom she shared a love of art and travel. Judy lived in Chicago until she moved to Minnesota in 1971, where she became active in the Twin Cities arts community, including serving on the boards of many arts organizations. Her paintings earned her dozens of prestigious awards, and she was a sought-after educator in many Twin Cities area art centers. Judy loved her cabin, the outdoors, and enjoyed tennis, going for walks around the lakes, and finding artistic subject matter in alleyways and country roads. We will miss the mischievous twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes, sparkling smile, and especially her hamburger soup and her Mary’s apple pie. A very heartfelt thank you to Judy’s dedicated and attentive caregivers at Wealshire Bloomington, and Minnesota Hospice.
