Judith “Judy” Wilson, age 94, of Hazel Run, Minnesota passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at CCM Health in Montevideo. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Hazel Run Lutheran Church in Hazel Run. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Judith Anita Wilson was born on May 12, 1928 in Wood Lake Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Sullvan and Bernice (Lecy) Saby. She was baptized and confirm in the Lutheran faith. Judy grew up on the farm near Hanley Falls and it was here that she graduated in 1947. On June 27, 1948, Judy was united in marriage to Leslie Wilson at Hazel Run Lutheran Church. The couple made their home near Hazel Run where they farmed. To this union four children were born, Steven, Cheryl, David, and Mary. The couple were married for over 63 years, until Leslie passed away on February 28, 2012. Not only was Judy a farmwife and mother, but she also worked as a nurse’s aid at the Granite Falls Hospital. Later she was a home health aid for 13 years and was a hospice volunteer. Judy had a passion for public health and served on the District 6 Health Board and also the Countryside Public Health Board. She was a faithful member of the Hazel Run Lutheran Church where she belonged to the WELCA. Judy was a member of the Legion Auxiliary and also the birthday club. Judy enjoyed collecting angels, dancing, crocheting, reading and doing jigsaw puzzles. She loved flowers, gardening and watching the birds at the feeders for hours. Judy also enjoyed playing cards and in recent years valued going on outings that Luther Haven organized. She had a genuine interest in the world around her and those in it. Judy loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Every time she’d talk with her children it was to find out how the grandchildren and great grandchildren were and what it was that they were doing and currently enjoying. Judy is survived by her children, Steve (Mary) Wilson, Cheryl Monnich, David (Linda) Wilson, Mary (Joe) Irvin; grandchildren, Michelle (Brian) Pestholdt, Cathy Wilson, Danielle (Brian) Meyer, Lukas (Amy) Wilson, Kinsey Irvin, Kenan Irvin, Sheldon Evers, Jessina VanUden; numerous great grandchildren; brothers, Odin (Dee) Saby, Archie (Joan) Saby, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Sullvan and Bernice Saby; husband, Leslie Wilson; brothers, Stanley Saby, Marvin (June) Saby; sister, Berdella (Arnie) Antonson; niece, Jackie; and many loved in-laws.
