Joshua A. Cheney, age 40, of Caroga Lake, NY, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Born on December 9, 1982, in Gloversville, NY, he is the son of Alfred Cheney (Valerie) and Pamela Billa Poest (Jeff). Joshua loved his daughter, Brooke, with all his heart and enjoyed spending time with her. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, and outdoor activities, especially with his father, brothers, and nephews. Joshua also liked to play cards, mostly with his mom and family. Everyone that knew Josh came to love his humor and fun-loving personality. Josh was previously employed as a union heavy equipment operator. In addition to his parents, Joshua is survived by his paternal grandparents, Alfred and Marion Cheney; daughter, Brooke Cheney; brothers, Eric Cheney (Emily), Jared Cheney (Denise), Marc MacVean (Karlee), Jesse Cheney (Nikita); Uncles, Paul Cheney, David Cheney, Henry Billa, Ron Billa (Cathy), Donald Billa (Pam); Aunt, Carol Connat; nephews, Carter, Carson, Luke, Jace, Cole, Finn, Kannon; as well as several cousins. Josh is predeceased by his maternal grandparents Henry Billa Sr. (Hankie) and Doris Billa. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 6:00 PM at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY. Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
