Joseph’s Obituary Joseph B. Tucker was born Nov. 5, 1935 in Covington County, Alabama and died at his home in Athens, Ohio on Nov. 28, 2022. He was raised in Niagara Falls, New York. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University (BA) and the University of Illinois (PhD). He settled in Athens in 1962 to begin his career at Ohio University where he spent 36 years as a professor and administrator. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jan Tucker; two sons, Chris (Katie) Tucker and Stephen (Bridget) Tucker; two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Emily; and a sister Donna Izzo. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Hazel Tucker; and a sister, Wynona James. No services are planned. Arrangements are with Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.
