Joseph “Joe” Allen Dexter, Jr., 77 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed from this life on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Joe was born Thursday, October 26, 1944, in Madera, California, and he was the son of the late Joseph Allen Dexter, Sr., and the late Gladys Vermell (Cox) Dexter. Joe was a home builder for many years. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1971. He was a member of Life Church of Cookeville. Joe is survived by, Wife of 58 years, Rose Mary Dexter; their Daughter, Mishelle Dexter; Best Friends, Sam Valasquez, Walt Trotter, and Matt Hanhnert. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by, Sisters, Betty, Doris, Helen, and Sharon; Brother Robert; His Loving Son, Joseph (Jody) Allen Dexter, III, his fishing buddy. Joe chose cremation, the family followed his wishes, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Life Church of Cookeville.
