Joseph’s Obituary GALVIN, Lt. Joseph J., Jr., a lifelong resident of Somerville, served on the Somerville Fire Department, Engine 7, for 41 years. After being inundated with visits by a parade of friends and family the day prior, he passed away peacefully on August 17, 2022. Beloved husband of Jean (Paterson) Galvin. Loving father of April Nelson Galvin and Wendy Ellen Harris. Dear brother of James Galvin and his wife Barbara the late Robert Galvin and Eileen Ernst. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeal Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville, Thursday morning at 11:30am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Clement Church, Somerville at 12:00. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday morning 9:00 – 11:30.
