Joseph’s Obituary Joseph Charles Froehlich, Jr., age 91, of West View, on Monday, June 27, 2022. Joe was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Joseph and Josephine (Lotz) Froehlich. Beloved husband of 64 years to Eileen (Walsh) Froehlich, loving father to David (Suzanne) Froehlich, Ronald (Lisa) Froehlich, Richard (the late, Colleen) Froehlich, Michael (Erin) Froehlich, Lynn (Matt) Homic, Chris (Mike) Sherry and Eileen (Jeff) Shamonsky. Great Grandpap to Allexa (Jesse) Wells, Nico Kaule, Lucas Kaule, Danielle Kaule, Devyn Kaule, Vincent Nicoll, Dominic Nicoll, Santino DeSantis, Joseph DeSantis, Evelyn DeSantis, Rebekah Froehlich, Tucker Long, Brennen Topnick and Bjorn Froehlich. Brother to Lois Leahy, Lucille Roos, Ken Froehlich, Sister Marilyn Froehlich, Lawrence Froehlich and the late Bernice Bolsinger, Dolores Schmidt, William Froehlich, Charles Froehlich, and Marion Froehlich. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family will welcome friends on Thursday from 1-4pm and 6-8pm at Schellhaas Funeral Home, Inc., 388 Center Avenue, West View, PA 15229. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:30am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, St. Teresa of Avila Church. Joe was a Korean War US Army Veteran. He worked as a meat cutter for Giant Eagle Markets for over 30 years. After retirement he continued to work as a crossing guard for the West View Borough Police Department as well as volunteer for the West View Borough Fire Police directing traffic. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Athanasius Parish in West View where he also volunteered as an usher. Joe was an avid gardener. He enjoyed cooking, bowling and playing in his senior softball league. He loved spending time with his family.
