Jonathan Wayne (Jon) Stewart, 46, of Statesville, died Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born in Iredell County on September 17, 1976, he was a son of the late Wayne Stewart and Libby Benton Stewart who survives. Jon was an avid Tarheel Far, Panthers Fan and Atlanta Braves Fan. He dearly loved his dog, Spanky. Survivors, in addition to his mother, are his sister, Susan Stewart, three aunts, Jane Benton, Carolyn and Davie Poole and Becky and Howell Pruett along with several cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 30, 2022 at Fairview Baptist Church with Dr. Scott Eanes and Rev. Paul Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service. Masks are required by all attendees. Condolences may be sent online to the family to www.nicholsonfunerals.com. Memorials may be given to Fairview Baptist Church, 349 Turnersburg Hwy., Statesville, N.C. 28625. Nicholson Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
