Davis, 92, of North Augusta, SC, entered into rest on October 7, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Kight Davis, his brothers and sister, Jervis C. Davis, Lonnie Davis, Jimmy Davis, and Jeannette Price and a grandson, Ted James “T.J.” Davis. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Graniteville, SC 29829 beginning at 2 o’clock followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 4 o’clock in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Al Kight officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the United States Marine Corp. Left to cherish his memory, are his children: Jamie Stripling (the late Eric), of Augusta, GA, Johnny Davis (Vivian), Grovetown, GA, Tommy Davis (Kathy), Clarks Hill, SC, Tammy Davis Glass (Marlon), Montevallo, AL, and Wendy Davis Hartshaw (Robert), North Augusta, SC; a sister, Nora Smith, of North Carolina, sixteen grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren. Mr. Davis was born in Jacksonville, FL to the late Henry Wallace and Myrtice Ingram Davis. He proudly and with honor served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He retired from AT&T with forty-two years of service. Johnnie was a member of the Silver Sneakers, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and reading. He was a talented artist and a former member of the USCA Choir. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project or bring a picture to share during the visitation.
