Dudek, III, 73, of Waterford passed away at his residence on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. John was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Edith “Edie”. He was born in Cohoes and was the son of the late John Dudek, Jr., and Irene Kalinowski Dudek, and predeceased by his brother Ed. He graduated from Keveny Memorial Academy and attended Hudson Valley Community College for HVAC. He was employed with Dudek Bros. Oil Company, subsequently he owned Dudek’s store on Remsen Street (formerly LaMarche Variety) with his wife Edie, and he worked approximately 20 years for Security Supply before retiring. John was a former member of the Keveny and the Yankee Doodle Bands. He loved playing his clarinet and saxophone and was welcomed warmly into both bands. John loved deep sea fishing, watching fights (anything regarding Mohammed Ali), watching the thoroughbreds race in Saratoga, trips to Vegas with friends and life in general. John loved to watch his Dallas Cowboys on Sundays and always looked forward to March Madness and filling out his NCAA brackets. He is survived by his sister Kathy (Ed) Twiss of Cohoes, also survived by several in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was always trying to make you laugh and see someone smile. Friends who wish to remember John in a special way may donate to the American Cancer Society in his memory. Funeral services are private at the convenience of the family.
