John S. Czapla, 81, passed away peacefully at Baystate Medical Center on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. Born October 19, 1940, son of the late John P. and Josephine (Wojciechowski) Czapla, he had lived in West Warren for most of his life, and more locally for the past twenty years. John was a Cathedral High School graduate and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. John retired as postmaster of the Sunderland Post Office after a long career in postal services. He also had owned and operated West Warren Community Hall, loved sailing, and was an avid skier. John is survived by his loving brother, Stanley J. Czapla, and sisters, Josephine Jerz, and Mary A. Koziol; and several cherished nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service for John at 10AM on Saturday, August 27, at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Chicopee.
