Pleasant, TX, passed away on December 5, 2022, in Mt. Pleasant. He was born on July 30, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant to Hughie & Sally Mae (Bradfield) Smith. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School class of 1966; member of the First Baptist Church; retired from Texas Utilities after 28 years, he loved to bowl and was a Master Gardner. He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Melissa & Bobby Hall of Texarkana, TX; grandchildren, Chris & Jeff Hall; special niece, Tonya Shortnacy; special nephew & spouse, Roy & Jenny Stovall; sister-in-law, Bettye Smith; faithful companions, Max & Queeny & numerous other nieces & nephews; numerous great nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maxine Smith; sister, Virginia (Ginger) Stovall; brothers, Joel & Wayne Smith. A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 7,2022 at the Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home with services to follow at 2:00 PM.
