View Tribute Book John Franklin “Frank” Wells, 70, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022. He was born August 30, 1952, in Salisbury, to the late Charlie Franklin Wells, Sr. and Annie Lee Thompson Nesbitt. Mr. Wells enlisted in the United States Army in 1969 and retired after 23 years of service, at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He then began a career at the Salisbury National Cemetery as a heavy equipment operator and retired in 2016 after 17.5 years of employment. Mr. Wells was a member of St. Luke’s Reformed Church and enjoyed spending time with his family, going to the beach, traveling, fishing, boating, camping, and woodworking. In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charlie Franklin Wells, Jr., Timothy Elias Wells, and Kevin Wells. Mr. Wells is survived by his wife of 39 years, Melinda Cauble Wells; daughters, Amanda Galluppi and husband, Gabe and Suzanne Clontz and husband, Nick; grandchildren, Tanner, Aubrey, and Carter; sister, Loretta Johnson; half-sisters, Carrie Wells and Lisa Vaughan; and half-brother, Ralph Nesbitt, Jr. The family will greet friends and relatives on Tuesday, September 27, 11:00 am – 12:15 pm at St. Luke’s Reformed Church. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, September 27, at the church, with Rev. Jon Schell officiating. Burial with Military Graveside Rites will take place at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 27, at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Boulevard, Salisbury, NC 28144.
