Obituary Joanne M. (Noskoviak) Kogut, 77, of 231 W. 7th St., Mount Carmel, passed away on November 6, 2022 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sunbury. She was born in Ashland on October 22, 1945, the daughter of Frank and Julia (Kerdock) Noskoviak. Joanne was a life-long resident of Mount Carmel. She was a 1963 graduate of Mount Carmel High School and attended Empire Beauty School in Shamokin. Joanne worked as a seamstress in local factories and bartended at the Atlas Legion for 30 years until her retirement. She was married to Michael L. Kogut Jr., who preceded her in death in 2003. Joanne was a member of the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the Clover Hose Fire Company, Mt. Carmel, the Lithuanian Club, Mt. Carmel, the Atlas Legion, a former member of the Moose, Mt. Carmel, and she volunteered with the Mount Carmel Rescue Squad. She enjoyed camping and being around people. Joanne loved spending time with her family. Joanne is survived by a daughter, Lori Okronglis and husband, Bill of Atlas; son, Rodney Ryan and wife, Bernice of FL; six grandchildren, William Okronglis and wife, Erienne of Trevorton, Brennan Okronglis and partner, Melissa Bidelspach of Atlas, Hayley Okronglis and partner, Vaughn Smith of Kulpmont, Joshua Ryan, Brianna Ryan of FL, and David Ryan of FL; a great granddaughter; a sister, Irene Stellar of Kulpmont; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, and sisters. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Father Francis Karwacki as celebrant in the C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine Street, Mt. Carmel, C. J. Lucas IV, supervisor. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the Service in the Funeral Home.
