View Tribute Book JESSICA RANE VARNEY, 33 years of age of Vansant, VA, passed away Tuesday, September 13,2022, at the Johnston Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Richlands, VA she was the daughter of Redena Gaye (Norman) Varney and Mitchell Varney. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Christian Faith. She was a loving mother, daughter, and a wonderful homemaker. She loved reading, watching true crime storis, street outlaws, sports, pageants, music and baking. She was preceded in death by her, maternal grandparents: Herman (Gertrude Marie Elswick) Norman; paternal grandparents: Ernest (Martha Jane) Varney; uncles: Rick Elswick, Greg Norman; special cousin: Michael Collins. Those left to cherish her memory include her parents: Redena Gaye (Norman) Varney, Vansant, VA; Mitchell Varney, Haysi, VA; 2-daughters: Alyssa Brooke Varney, Kendall Shayne Shelton; son to heart: Sheldon Matney; fiancé: Shane Shelton; brother: Jason (Crecey) Varney, Berea, KY; 1-nephew: Noah Varney, 1-niece: Hannah Varney; special nieces: Ryleigh Norman, Piper Norman; special aunt and uncle Robin and Randy Collins; aunt: Ann Large; special cousins: Ambreia Anderson, Brandie Sesco,. Also, survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family will receive family and friends at the home Saturday evening. Graveside services for JESSICA RANE VARNEY will be conducted Sunday, September 18, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at the Elswick Family Cemetery on Devil’s Branch, Vansant, VA.
