Jerry’s Obituary Mr. Jerry Worth Sampson age 69 of Park Drive Marietta formerly of Blairsville passed away peacefully on Sunday October 2, 2022 in the Northside Canton Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Sampson was born on December 28, 1952 in Marietta, GA., the son of Dorotha M. Puett Sampson and the late Clarence Worth Sampson. Jerry loved playing the guitar, fishing and playing golf. He was a loving son who took good care of his mother until his death. He was preceded in death by his father and also two brothers, Terry and Tony Sampson. Mr. Sampson was of the Christian faith. Surviving Mr. Sampson are his mother, Dot Puett of Marietta, formerly of Towns County, his uncles and aunts, Dennis and Karen Puett of Marietta, Max and Frances Puett of Blairsville, Merle (Bud) and Irene Puett of Blairsville, several nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends also survive. A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 8, 2022 at 1:00 pm from the Old Brasstown Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Mr. Sampson’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 – 1:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
