View Tribute Book Obituary Jerry Lee Booney, 81, of Lewistown, passed away at 10:15 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born Aug. 9, 1941, in Shirleysburg, he was a son of the late Fred Booney and Alice (Wilson) Booney Groce. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Sharon K. (Weaver) Booney, Oct. 2, 2004; brother, Howard Groce; sisters, Mary Lawver and Shirley Everly; great-granddaughter, Eva Maria Interiano; and a stepson, Richard “Rick” Grove. Jerry is survived by: four children, James Booney, of Granville, Mary Panunzio and husband, Tony, of Yeagertown, Carmen Hepner and husband, Glenn, of Belleville, and Patricia Specht and husband, Richard, of Yeagertown; stepchildren, Doriann Rhoades and husband, Timothy, of Milroy, and Jeffrey A. Grove, of Lewistown; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and five siblings, John Groce and wife, Barbara, of Granville, Sarah Walls, of McClure, William Groce and wife, Berniece, of Perry County, Annie Campbell, of Lewistown, and Deborah Walters, of Lewistown. He was employed at Sitkin Smelting and Refining for 10 years and Joe Krentzman and Son scrap metals for 21 years before retiring. Private graveside service and interment will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery, McVeytown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jerry’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1375 Martin Street, Suite 206, State College, PA 16803.
