Jerry L. Helvey, 75 of Wakarusa, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa. He was born November 23, 1946, in Wabash County to Robert J. and Joline D. (Cullers) Helvey. Surviving are his siblings, Rebecca (Steve) Waymire of Warsaw, Doug (Debbie) Helvey of Wabash, nieces and nephews, Tim (Amanda) Helvey, Tony (Jill) Helvey, Andy (Krystle) Robinson, and Emily (Kirk) Proctor. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jerry loved sports, some of his favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He was also a loyal fan of NorthWood Athletics. He faithfully attended Wakarusa United Methodist Church. Jerry worked at the old Come & Dine and Flick’s restaurants in Wakarusa. There will be a visitation one hour prior to a 1 pm funeral service, Friday, August 12, 2022, at Rieth Rohrer Ehret Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St. Wakarusa, IN 46573. Pastor Ed Geleske will officiate. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester. Memorial’s may be directed to the donor’s choice.
