View Tribute Book Charles (Jerry) Hagelberger, age 92, of Fredericksburg, VA, died October 29, 2022 at Mary Washington Hospital after a struggle with pneumonia. He was born September 1, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio. Jerry joined the Air Force after graduating high school and was stationed at several bases as a medic. One of his favorite tours was Tripoli, Libya. After his discharge from the Air Force, he graduated Old Dominion University with a clinical lab degree. He then went to work for Riverside Hospital as the Laboratory Director for more than 40 years. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening. He also was an avid painter, painting many stills of nature and scenes of purity. Several were entered into local art shows. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harley Davis Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Claudia Hagelberger; his sister Shirley Steele and brother Larry Davis, both of Ohio; his 3 children Robin Daugherty, Kim Spangenburg and Steven Hagelberger; and 6 grandchildren. A service will be held at 2:30 pm on November 11, 2022 at The Grace Episcopal Church, 111 Church St., Yorktown, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church Outreach Program at 825 College Ave., Fredericksburg, VA 22401. Read more
